The short answer
Public discussions in r/Instagram and r/InstagramDisabledBans describe unresolved appeals, multiple affected accounts and confusing recovery steps. They help identify questions to investigate. They do not establish how many people are affected, why a particular ban happened or whether a suggested recovery method works.
What we read and how to use it
For this article we reviewed five public Reddit discussions dated June to September 2026, accessed on 11 September 2026. We selected concrete accounts of pending reviews, multiple affected profiles and login problems. This is a small, qualitative selection, not a random sample or survey.
The reports are the posters’ own accounts. We have not examined their Instagram case files, independently verified ownership or established the cause of their restrictions. We link the discussions for context; usernames, private screenshots and account details are not reproduced here. These are not Kahyalar client testimonials.
A short review estimate can turn into a long wait
In a 7 September discussion in r/Instagram, a poster described waiting about two weeks after appealing despite a shorter estimate on screen. A separate 2 September report in r/InstagramDisabledBans described an appeal submitted on 27 August with no subsequent update at the time of posting.
The useful question is whether a review is pending, incomplete or already decided. Save the confirmation and current wording, then check for further requests. Our pending-appeal guide explains that distinction. These reports do not establish an average review time.
Several profiles can be affected in one reported incident
A June discussion about five suspended accounts describes personal, business and client profiles becoming unavailable around the same time. The post illustrates why an agency needs a separate record for each account and a shared overview of the incident.
It does not establish that linking accounts caused those restrictions, or that unlinking them would prevent another ban. Record the accounts affected, notices and dates without treating a forum theory as a diagnosis. Use our case-summary checklist for the handover.
“Banned” can describe several different symptoms
In an August thread titled Account suspension, the description shifts between messaging problems, missing access and a technical error. Replies draw conflicting conclusions. That makes it a useful example of why a symptom list is more actionable than a single label.
Record whether you can sign in, view the feed or use specific functions, and whether Instagram explicitly shows a suspension notice. Compare the blocked-action guide with the disabled-account guide before choosing a response.
Identity confirmation and restored access are different steps
The June weekly support thread includes a report of accepted video-selfie checks followed by login links that still fail. This is a reported experience, not proof of a platform-wide defect or of the account’s final status.
Keep the confirmation and subsequent error together in your notes. Explain exactly where the process stops instead of describing the whole account as unrecoverable. The video-selfie guide covers how to record and narrow down the problem.
What Reddit can tell you — and what it cannot
These discussions show that other people report similar frustrations. They do not support claims that millions of accounts were wrongly banned, that all restrictions were caused by AI, or that a particular “trick” will recover your account. Posts may omit context, repeat the same case or never receive a final update. People with unresolved problems may be more likely to post than people whose accounts work normally.
Meta’s own support update describes evolving recovery tools and support options. Use official information to check what a feature is intended to do, and a community discussion to understand what someone says happened to them. Neither guarantees an individual outcome.
Turn a discussion into a useful next step
Look for the exact error, date, region, appeal status and any later outcome before copying advice. Do not create a false story, claim a hack that did not happen or post private recovery information. Check whether the advice still matches the options shown in your account.
If you need help beyond the standard process, Kahyalar Solutions offers a free initial case assessment. Include the message and previous attempts rather than a link to a supposed universal fix. We explain suitability, scope and conditions before paid work.
